Kristen Lauria

I have been a curious student my whole life, and I like to pass on not just knowledge, but my love of learning. I graduated from high school with a GPA above 4.0 and immediately joined the US Navy in their Nuclear Propulsion program. I spent 4 years in the Navy learning about nuclear reactors and then decided to start a family when I got out. Since then, I have completed my BS in Physics with a minor in Math and graduated Cum Laude. I was also inducted into the physics honor society, Sigma Pi Sigma, having attained a GPA in Physics of over 3.0. I also have my MS in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum from Drexel University, and I am certified to teach physics and chemistry in the state of Pennsylvania.
Having experienced so many different environments in my life, I have learned not only a large amount of information, but I have also learned how to translate that information so that others can understand it as well. Because we all learn differently, it is important to find a teacher who can modify their teaching style to fit what the student needs to learn. I believe with my experience and knowledge that I can help nearly any student gain proficiency in the subject they are currently struggling with, and I hope to help them gain confidence along the way. I believe learning should not be confined to school; it should be a part of our everyday lives.
In 2012, I started tutoring students in math and science and found I really enjoyed the challenge of stepping in and meeting students where they are. Soon after, I began homeschooling my own kids as my oldest entered kindergarten. In 2017, I began teaching online and found I really enjoyed planning courses and finding ways to make math and science more approachable and enjoyable for students.
In 2022, I began my corporate journey as an Operations Training Instructor and Program Lead at Limerick Generating Station with Constellation Nuclear. In 2024, I transitioned to the role of Fleet Instructional Technologist, serving as an expert for a fleet of 400 instructors in adult learning and instructional design. In 2026, I began offering my instructional design and educational consulting services through Mastery Academic to help more companies, both large and small, benefit from well-designed and effective training programs.
