Mastery Academic is an online school administered by Kristen Lauria. Classes are purchased a la carte. All of the classes I offer are self-paced and available until the last day of May the school year enrolled.
All classes listed were previously offered live for the last 3-7 years with most students (>80%) achieving a 4 or 5 on the exam. The content of these self-paced courses is the same as the live courses.
Mathematics Classes

AP Calculus AB
Note: This course prepares students for the AP Calculus AB exam offered in May of each year. Mrs. Lauria has been approved by the College Board to teach this AP Course.
This course will cover the main concepts in calculus including: limits and continuity, differentiation, integration, and differential equations. There will also be additional assignments and study sessions meant to help the student prepare for the AP Calculus AB exam. I work hard to reach learners of all styles, backgrounds, and abilities.
AP Calculus can be a challenge for even the most gifted math students, but I designed this course to be accessible to students as long as they are willing to put in the work to master the material. Students should have completed trigonometry or pre-calculus to be successful in this course.

This course will cover the main concepts in calculus including: limits and continuity, differentiation, integration, differential equations, parametric equations, polar coordinates, vector-valued functions, and infinite sequences and series. There will also be additional assignments and study sessions meant to help the student prepare for the AP Calculus BC exam. I work hard to reach learners of all styles, backgrounds, and abilities.

Science Classes

AP Environmental Science
(coming November 2023)
Note: This course prepares students for the AP Environmental Science exam offered in May of each year. Mrs. Lauria has been approved by the College Board to teach this AP Course.
Environmental Science is the study of the physical world around us and the interaction between humans and our environment. This environmental science course will provide students with the knowledge base to understand the world and the impact humans have on it, learning skills in analysis and problem solving, that will allow the student to think critically about their own impact on the earth and what humans as a species must do to protect our planet. The major topics covered are: The Living World: Ecosystems and Biodiversity, Populations, Earth Systems and Resources, Land and Water Use, Energy Resources and Consumption, Atmospheric, Aquatic, and Terrestrial Pollution, and Global Change.
Students will learn through many different methods including lectures, hands-on activities, laboratory experiments, and much more. All labs utilize easy to find and inexpensive materials. A lab list is provided to all students when the class starts. I work hard to create a course that can reach learners of all styles, backgrounds, and abilities.

AP Physics 1
Note: This course prepares students for the AP Physics 1 exam offered in May of each year. Mrs. Lauria has been approved by the College Board to teach this AP Course.
This course will cover the main concepts in physics including: kinematics (1 and 2-dimensional), Newton’s laws of motion, uniform circular motion, rotational motion, periodic motion, work and energy, sounds and waves, and electricity and magnetism. There will also be additional assignments and study sessions meant to help the student prepare for the AP Physics 1 algebra-based exam. I work hard to reach learners of all styles, backgrounds, and abilities.
While AP Physics 1 is generally considered the most difficult AP course, I really aim to make this class approachable for all students who are willing to put in the work and effort. All labs utilize easy to find and inexpensive materials. A lab list is provided to all students when the class starts. Students must be completed or currently enrolled in Algebra 2 to be successful in this course.
